2008 Harvest Festival
October 25, 2008
The second annual Currahee Club Harvest Festival was a great success this year. We had games, bounce houses, a soap box derby race and tons of food! So many smiling faces lit up the day with kids and adults running around everywhere. I am so excited about planning for next year as we think of new activities to add to the day! If you were not able to join the fun this year, be sure to make room on your calendar for next year.

Splish-Splash Saturday
Aug 9, 2008
August 9th was Splish Splash Saturday, a big cool-off for kids before they went back to school! We had the biggest slip-n-slide you have ever seen. It was approximately 40 ft. by 20 ft. The kids had so much fun that they played on it for hours. Even the adults gave it a try! No one could give the opportunity up. Of course the little tykes had fun as well on their very own little slip-n-slide, but even they attempted the big one with their parents. They loved playing in the water. You should have seen all their smiling faces.

2008 July 4 Celebration
July 4, 2008
Our July 4th event was so much fun. It was an old timey field day with a three legged race, tug-o-war, 50 yard dash, a cookout, fireworks and more. We even had a bounce house for the little tykes to play around in. The kids had a blast and the adults did too. The best part was the end of the day when we handed out awards for all the events they participated in. The smiles on the kid’s faces when we handed them an award were priceless. Of course the sparklers were a big hit as well.

2008 Easter Egg Hunt
March 23, 2008
This year’s Easter Egg Hunt was such a blast. We started out with a cookout where everyone enjoyed grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad and all the fixings. We then had a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny himself, just in time to see the kids before he started his route that night. When the bunny left, all the kids headed for the egg hunt. We hid close to 1,000 toy and candy filled eggs that were all found in record time. The kids had such a great time and no one went home empty handed. We even had an Easter hat contest that showed such wonderful imagination from the kids. They really did a great job. This year’s egg hunt was a great kick start to all the exciting spring and summer events that will take place.

John Wade & Steve Bartkowski |
Building Great Things Charity Tournament
October 5, 2006
Currahee Club member and former All-Pro Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Steve Bartkowski, was one of 110 golfers who participated in a charity golf tournament at Currahee Club on Oct. 5. Bartkowski organized the tournament, which raised over $45,000 in support of the American Red Cross Blood Services Southern Region. “It’s to the benefit of us all to give back,” he noted. The tournament lasted from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and players enjoyed blue skies, sunshine and dramatic views of four states from atop the Jim Fazio designed golf course.
