Toccoa, Georgia - Tucked away in the Mountains

Far from the hustle and bustle of the big city, Currahee Club seems a world away from everything, but Toccoa, Georgia, a quaint mountain town of 10,000 inhabitants, is only six miles away. Not only will you find every modern convenience there, but also a great deal of history and culture, as well as more than a little excitement surrounding the rebirth of the city of Toccoa and its historic downtown.

After much renovation, the city of Toccoa is once again the jewel of Northeast Georgia, with beautifully restored historic buildings and a revitalized gas-lit Doyle Street perfect for strolling, shopping, and dining. And if you'd rather take a trip into the city away from Toccoa and the Georgia Mountains, both Atlanta and Greenville are within easy driving distance. Due to the close proximity of other wonderful towns and its prime location, Toccoa, Georgia real estate has been in high demand.

The Stephens County Hospital, a fully-equipped regional medical center, provides excellent healthcare, including 24-hour emergency services. The city of Toccoa also has its own airport, R.G. LeTourneau Field, as well as the Toccoa Symphony, which performs regular concerts and the Little Theatre, which puts on several productions every year. In the autumn, you can enjoy the Harvest Festival, and in the spring, there's the Currahee Arts Festival and The Taste of Toccoa.

There are many other quaint little towns in North Georgia. Clayton, about 40 minutes from Toccoa, Georgia, is famous for its antique shops and unique galleries. You can pan for gold in Dahlonega or spend the day walking its tree-lined main streets. You can even enjoy Oktoberfest in Helen - one of the only Alpine villages you'll find outside of the Alps. This tiny town on a strip offers Alpine-themed gift shops, restaurants, and shows.
